That's absurd! The USA was a democracy, before women could vote, or take part. They didn't have to worry about being abducted, and raped.
Yeah, but I hear the non-white ones were bought and sold for the same purpose. After the Civil War, women of all colors were still subject to the whims of their husbands b/c American democracy considered woman just another property. Where do you think alienation of affection laws came from?
