who would be a better first lady

it's not something I really think about and certainly wouldn't factor into my voting decisions.

I think they'd both make fine first ladies... michelle seems to have the potential to be another hillary, which could be good or bad depending on where you're sitting.

Bad, very bad from where I'm sitting.

I couldn't stand Nancy reagan, since then I like First Ladies who keep quiet for the most part. The First Lady is not elected, so they need keep quiet as far as I'm concerned.

I voted for Cindy McCain. I haven't particularly liked much of what I seen/heard about Michelle O.

who even has family recipes? I mean, we've been cooking since Al Gore invented fire, there can't be much edible food recipes that anyone can create that aren't already in a book or magazine somewhere unless it's slightly altered by adding a quarter teaspoon of water or something.

after reading this on snopes i must say i am impressed and learned a few things i didnt know.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/mccain/cindy.asp

if i compare that to what Michelle has said or done i would have to vote Cindy

I'm shocked.

Really, after all the crap when the Reps whined and moaned (and impeached!) about , Bill Clinton's marijuana use, infidelity, immorality, etc, etc, you support the wealthy, formerly drug addicted woman who dated a man married to an invalid, eventually marrying him one month after his divorce was finalized.

And you find her more impressive than the woman who came from very humble beginnings to put herself through college and Harvard Law school, because she's said a few things that have probably rubbed you the wrong way? Btw, aside from a few soundbytes, what exactly has Michelle "done" that you don't approve of?

It's ultimately a non-issue as I doubt anyone in their right mind bases their vote on the first spouse. It would take one hell of a psycho spouse to deter me from voting for the candidate I prefer.

without even factoring what the media says (or has said) about Michelle Obama I still think Cindy McCain is a better first lady.

Her role in bringing medical attention in 3rd world countries comes from a heartfelt desire to help kids and those with special needs. She is also a special ed teacher (Or was) and I have nothing but the utmost respect for those that work at a service level with people w/special needs.

Essentially With Mrs McCain she saw the need for help and did what she could to make that happen.

I applaud that desire and drive. Factor in her addiction problem, she seems to me to have dealt with alot in her life and she has overcome her obstacles.

She also has a fierce heart when it comes to her family and her son serving in the military. I have to believe that she would do everything she could do protect her son and protect her family, and I'd like that perspective in both the President and his First lady.

With that said I think me and my family would be able to relate more with Obama and his family...

So, it's an interesting question.

I'll pick choice 3 - Who cares

I mean really , who really cares what the First lady does. Shouldn't we be more interested in which President and members of congress to pick?

John and Cindy's tale of infidelity and drug abuse is as American as apple pie.

you keep mentioning Cindy's drug abuse... I've never heard you talk about Obama's own admitted cocaine use.

What's there to discuss? A teenager experimenting with drugs? Someone alert the media.

That's a lot different than the wife of a US Senator abusing her own charity to feed a narcotics addiction which was so severe that she was convicted for it.

I don't particularly care for either one, but Cindy just looks too much like a Stepford wife, and with all her money we must all look like ants from where she's sitting. At least she didn't run over and kill someone. I voted for Michelle because I think she will speak her mind and not what she's supposed to say. Neither are running for president so I don't really care.
