I didn't even mention Tampa who (assuming they show up mentally) could also beat them with Brady at the helm.

Actually I mostly agree with you but GB has been doing it with "smoke and mirrors" to a degree this year just like last season.

Every time they play a team with a strong run-defense they get shut down and then their "passable at best" O-line can't keep Rodgers on his feet.

Still there is a very good reason I don't bet on football and "any given Sunday" is an accurate statement. The difference between the worst team in the NFL and the best is smaller than it would appear!
I am a Brady fan and I would love for Tampa to win it all, simply because so many people said he couldn't win without BB. But the Bucs are simply too inconsistent (both offense and defense) and Brady is making too many bad throws that he never would have made in his prime. In any single game, I think they could beat anybody (they almost came back and beat the Chiefs), but I dont think they can string together enough good games to go far in the playoffs. I agree, GB seems to win with "smoke and mirrors", but so do the Saints. And who knows which Seahawks team will show up. That is why I said there are several teams in the AFC that are equal or better than any in the NFC.

Actually I forgot about the Rams despite losing to Gang-Green yesterday. Obviously they have the same inconsistency problem but when they're "on" they are pretty good.

IMO 5 of the top 6 teams in the NFL are in the AFC.

My rankings:

(1) KC
(2) Buffalo

(3) Baltimore/New Orleans
(4) Tennessee/Pittsburgh

(5) Seattle/GB/Tampa
(6) LA/Phoenix/Cleveland

Also comment-worthy: Miami & Indy

I'm fairly confident in the first two but after that its admittedly a crap-shoot!

😎

one of the many injury-devastated teams out there, on top of their defense being garbage all year.

In contrast, you have teams like KC that suffered a season-ending loss of their great rookie running back, only to be replaced by a backup called Le'Veon Bell.
Knee, huh? I saw them carrying him off, looked to be a knee injury that would end his season. The Chiefs are still tough to beat by anybody, I figure.

Yeah, KC lost to the Raiders... in KC, go figure.

Well this post hasn't aged well. 😛 Packers move up one rung on the totem pole, but we'll see if they can handle the Titans next.

As for the NFC pecking order, I don't disagree that the Saints are a better team than the Packers. BUT the Saints have had major injuries and we know they SUCK in the playoffs on the road in bad weather. Doesn't change the fact that the NFC champion is expected to be cannon fodder for the AFC's best team...

I dont think there is a really dominant team in the NFC. I think the Packers are probably #1, followed by the Saints and Seahawks.
That said, I think the Chiefs (obviously), Bills, Ravens, and maybe even Dolphins and Titans are equal or better than any team in the NFC.

Pretty much agree that the AFC champions will beat whoever the NFC sends to the Super Bowl.

But I want to believe the Packers will pull together another improbable run to victory...

And if there weren't any other reason, just so Shorty can feel it in his hindquarters.

Earlier in the season the Steelers looked unbeatable ... that plus 11 wins is what put them on my list. After tonight though I seriously doubt they win another game in the regular season or the playoffs.

Realistically the only teams in the NFC I give a shot to are the Saints, the Seahawks and (maybe) the Rams... I'm not confident in any one of them beating the AFC.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Colts win one. I like Rivers and it could be a redemption arc for him after years of playing for the woeful Chargers. In reality I think the Chiefs will win.

Why does anyone care? Considering the impact of COVID on everything and especially professional sports its a year of joke accomplishments and statistics. Every bit of data this year is going down in the annals of statistics with an * beside it.

IDK, all the teams had to play with the same restrictions. One could argue that it was even more based on talent than usual, since the huge noise advantage of home field was missing.

Because footballs all we've got for the love of god! 😉
I love football, but I love my wife more. I have been spending a lot of time with her these past three weeks now that her semester is over with. She's fun to be with, gets my jokes and has grown more frisky with age.

Chiefs are the favorite. Only if Mahomes is taken out will they falter.

I'd put the Colts as the sleeper.

The Bills as the third choice.

The Saints will probably never stop paying for the sins of Bountygate.

I think that is why the refs keep shafting them...

They also can't stop Kirk Cousins, lol. Kirk could add being the The Grinch to the Saints this Christmas.

The Vikings are way out of it and will loose to the Saints. BTW I am in MN.

The team to win the SuperBowl will be.....the one that scores the most points.

The 3-win Bengals have more wins against teams with a winning record than the Packers do.

You still can spoil Brees' christmas.

Brees got gimpy ribs and you guys can force him to play an extra game by spoiling their 1 seed dreams.

Not my Broncos, that's for sure...

I'm also saying anyone we beat out came close to beating. This includes Miami, Titans.. and we almost beat KC.. I just don't want to see them win again.

I don't like the Saints or Seahawks either. Most of NFC sucks.

So I'm going with the Bills.

yeah, I don't really like anyone in the NFC right now. They are overall more gimpy/broken and I mean, an under-500 team is going to be a division champ in this league....not exactly rife with competition in those first rounds of the playoffs. Seahawks, so strong early on are just swinging limp right now and probably won't be able to win unless they score 34 points in every game of the playoffs, are suddenly contending for their league over a team that just lost to the Jets. ....THE JETS! Much of the NFC seem to be "backing their way in" to top seeds, lol. Saints, we won't know how good they are with a "healthyish" Brees getting back in, because they are basically going to sit him 1 and a half games, right? Anyway, that's a lot to assume for the Saints getting their 2nd wind, rolling into the playoffs.

whereas the Chiefs are on fire and Bills are consistent, strong, dependable--these, I think, are the two hottest teams right now, at the right time...Browns are making funny noise, Miami is like...sup? Tennessee has "lost our attention" but I think they are legitimately as strong as they were closing off last year and most of this year--they are healthy, right?
