Who will win the 2006 Stanley Cup?

I just hope its a good series.

Personally I don't care who wins, and I'd bet few on this planet even care about the NHL, so for the sake of the league I hope its a good series. 🙂

I'm rooting for the oilers just cause they've got Rollie in goal. That said, I also think any ho-dunk Canadien town deserves the cup a whole lot more than Carolina.

I see people here in Carolina with Hurricane flags everywhere. Yawn. When is hockey season over anyway? LOL I didn't even know they were in the finals. Today as I was watching ESPN, it finally showed that they were. Honestly, I didn't even know the Dallas Mavericks were in the finals. I thought the series with the Suns would last a bit longer. Guess I'm not the sports fan that I used to be. But seriously, I'm not a big fan of Canada and I do reside in the Carolinas. So I am rooting for the 'Canes even though I didn't even know they were in the Stanley Cup. But my question to you is, why does any town in Canada deserve it more than any town in North Carolina? I see lots of people here who seem to be excited about the team. What makes the Canadians more deserving?

Are there really that many fans down there? I don't know, I don't have any idea of how hockey's like down there, but here in Canada it's every game sold out every night, hockey being the main sport with more fans than any other sport. Everyone's talking about hockey all the time, and all you hear on the sports talk shows is hockey.

This doesn't make the Canadian cities more deserving of the cup, but I do feel that it would be more greatly appreciated in any city here than in Carolina.

I don't hear people talking about hockey much down here but maybe its because of the people I'm with. We have lots of cars flying Hurricane flags though. Lots of stickers etc. It may be lots of bandwagoners too. Hockey is not a big sport in most American cities. We like our baseball, football and basketball more. I watched one hockey game for about a few minutes and that is it. Don't follow the sport at all. Used to be a real basketball fan, but now I'm mostly a baseball guy. When football is on, I do watch it sometimes. Hockey is more popular in North Carolina than lets say, Florida. Hockey is very big up there in Canada. So big that they could not even support two NBA teams. It may also have to do with the fact that is not as popular in America, generally speaking and Canadians can claim the sport as their own.
