Meh, Vance is a decent pick for Trump, but not the strongest option when it comes to beating Dems. Harris could take him.
I see this as an ill-advised pick designed to shore up support from poorer, white rural voters in states like OH, PA, WI, MI…but not really expanding the base or appealing to independents. Maybe women like him?? I guess he gives the campaign a younger face. But he’s another unproven outsider with a middling record of bipartisanship. Is he really the guy you want taking the job if Trump croaks? How much political capital does he really bring? We’ll see.
