Many times the Heisman Trophy goes to a 1 man team. Wisconsin is a good current example. Without their Heisman player they have done much, much worse. So every year, I hope it doesn't go to my favorite team.

Rex is wrapping it up as we speak. I bet they allready engraved the trophy with his name.

His numbers are unbelievable and the team is good. Sure, there have been other quarterbacks with similar numbers, but none were ever ranked first in the nation.

Where's Chester Taylor, one of the underdogs for heisman?

in div-IA he's the #11 in rushing, and #15 in all pupose yards, along with beating some MAC rushing and scoring records
granted i'm a little biased, but don't just assume it'll go to a top candidate

If Rex was a junior or Senior he would probably get it. They will probably give it to Eric Crouch. He's a senior and Nebraska should finish in the top 10.

I don't know - this is a tough call. I don't have cable anymore, so I've only seen Rex play a little and honestly, I wasn't all that impressed, but his stats are downright astounding, but with the amount of attempts this guy has, he really should have tons of yards and td's.

While his pass stats don't compare, you have to admit that Crouch is a stud. Anderson and Foster didn't do squat against OSU, so, unless they have incredible seasons from here out, I really don't think they have a legit shot: considering that it is easier for a good QB to get it than a good HB AND considering the caliber of the QB's in the running.
Bummer since I would rather see it go to a runner most of the time.

Perry hasn't made enough of a splash this season to get it (hey, don't get me wrong, he's having a great year, but to win as a defensive player, you have to be a GOD) - plus, their schedule is lame which should help his stats, but won't help with recognition.

Right now, my gut says that Grossman is the front-runner (450+ yrds?! are you kidding?), but I'm really not convinced that he's really the best player in the country.
:)

Should be an interesting season!
