Republican or Democrat, choose your flavor. Wow.

Seriously, fvck it.

I don't think McCain is too popular with the current crop of Republicans. The voters would love him, but he'd never get widespread support from his own party. While he isn't exactly Michael Moore when it comes to the Bush administration, he's way too much of a free-thinker to get the nomination. It's not just the Republicans either, I'm not sure he'd have any better of a chance if he was a Democrat.

See, that is where people are mistaken. If the GOP believes McCain is the only hope to say beating Hillary for example, they will get behind him and support his bid. No, not everyone in the party likes his politics, but the party is going to want someone who can win the Electoral College, and McCain is that person. Now, someone like Allen who is a bit more conservative could get the ticket as well, but McCain at this point has a very good chance imo.

Its funny that anyone really thinks Hillary Clinton is going to run. Sure, the Dems will run a really sh!tty candidate - Iowa will see to that - but it won't be Ms. Clinton. Of course, the Repubs won't run anyone better, so we'll be back to voting on Gawd, Gays, and Guns, as usual.

Personally, I'd like to see Mark Warner run. For those of you who don't know, he's the ex-Governer of Virginia, a Democrat. Virginia is one of the best run states - one of the few that is fiscally sound and in the black. He also accomplished this with help from a very bipartisan government. Southern Virginia is Red, Northern VA is very blue. Just the kind of man I'd like to see run. He'd win, too.

It might be funny, but that is irrelevant. There is no one who even comes close to her numbers within the party atm. The Democrat nomination polls I have seen lately I believe John Kerry and John Edwards are the runner ups, but by 25% or so. No, she wants to run and if the Democrat party will get behind John Kerry, they will most certainly get behind Hillary Clinton. It is loser, but it?s going to happen.

cos I ask them. and then I actually take notice of their reply. That's not something you're used to doing, eh?

(I also read the polls, Hillary often pops up in "most admired person" surveys)

They represented the majority of the population last election too and look who they picked.

And while many women may like her...everyone else hates her!

Agree. He'll never get the ultra-conservative Christians behind him. Same with Rudy over his pro-choice stance and his questionable personal situations while still governor. I have a bad feeling they're going to try and get Dead Eye Dick to run. That being said, I would prefer that Powell run.

And do you know how irrelevant poll numbers are regarding the 2008 election? If they were relevent, 2004 would've been Bush vs. Dean. Before the primaries, Dean was considered the heavy favorite to take the nomination.

Yes, they are irrelevant, and atm she has no competition. We will see though, but to think Hillary will not be running is wishful thinking at best.

Cheney, not in this lifetime, one report I read yesterday saw him stepping down after the 06 elections. We will have wait to see, but no Cheney is at his end.

It may be funny but the Country needs serious change or it truly risks extinction.

I may have a talk show host supporting me very soon.

Americans don't vote for people who have lost in the past. Besides all Hilary would have to do is dig up all the crap Karl Rove and Bush Jr. dug up and flung at McCain.

I don't really care who wins but I would be surprised to see the weak Democratic party come close to winning the election.

Weak? losing by somewhere around 1% to a foe that has MILLIONS more in campaign funds and a corporate media disinformation campaign to a war president, hmm.

And yeah, they both suck. But lay off the crackpipe.

The popular vote was 3%. He had 286 EVs to Kerry's 252. Bush had 11% of the Democratic vote, while Kerry had 6% of the Republican. And even with the libs all up in arms about the war, he still won. I would vote for him this year even, unless there was a good independent. And yes, I do realize that he won't be running, just saying...

It's called Southern Democrats. There's still quite a few of them.

Anyway, I'd like Richardson to run. He seems to be one of the most qualified candidates out there.
