it's Mike Eruzione (sp?)...from the 1980 US Hockey team

I dont know who's gon light it.. but i know who designed it.. some Mechanical engineering professor or soembody in the ME department here at Georgia Tech.. he also designed it for Atlanta 1996 olympics, and they liked his work so much they hired him again to design.... w00t!!.. oh well.... just thought id share some info i picked up today in the school paper called the Technique..

Do you guys remember any torch lighting in particular as a favorite? My personal favorite was the Barcelona summer games where the archer shot the flaming arrow over the cauldron. VERY cool.

Yeah my roomies and I were just talking about that. The archer was definetly my favorite.

My favorites were the archer in Barcelona and Rafer Johnson in Los Angeles in 1984.

I am truly proud of what Utah did in preperation for this event. A very humbling experience for a Utah boy.

Good show, all-in-all. Pretty of the Pres. to sit with the athletes. The Lilehammer Opening Ceremonies are still the best I've seen, though.
