Give me a list of your favorite Sci-Fi author or book name ?

For straight Sci-Fi, (not swordsman, wizards or fantasy) try:

Niven's early stuff
Heinlein
James Hogan
Assimov
Arthur C Clarke
Alan Dean Foster
Van Vogt
Poul Anderson
Greg Bear
Brin
Orson Scott Card
Douglas Adams
Pohl
William Gibson
Haldeman
Kim Stanley Robinson
Jules Verne
Philip K Dick, I am not a big fan of his but it would worth your time to read him.
Saberhagen
Simak

My personal favorite has always been Robert Heinlein and it would be hard to pick a favorite. I guess if forced I would probably pick either Stranger in a Strange Land or The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

my favorite is R A Heinlein

i have read every book he wrote and most of the short stories

the first RAH book i read was "The Door into Summer"

I'd recommend Micheal Crichton for easy to read, interesting science fiction.
I thought all his books were really good. Try jurassic park and the lost world even if you've seen the movies. The books are pretty different from the movies.
Timeline, Prey and Sphere were pretty good too.
Asimov has been mentioned a few times and he's really really good too. I really enjoyed the foundation series. if you're going to read the foundation series, read his other book called "robots of Dawn" or something before you read the last book of the series...perhaps that was a very very subtle spoiler.

I'm assuming you mean "Scientific" science fiction.
Fantasy fiction (wizards, dragons, warriors, etc.) fall under science fiction too. I'd recommend a whole different list for those

Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn
Dark Force Rising By Timothy Zahn
The Last Command ByTimothy Zahn

Almost any book Timothy Zahn was ever wrote.

How did I leave that one off my list, I loved that book! I think the first one I read was Between Planets. (Not counting the Tom Corbett Space Cadet Series that I think he had something to do with as well)

A Wrinkle in Time. The best fiction book I've ever read, and one of two science fiction books I've read.

mmm...yeah...I remember reading that back in, oh...5th grade or so. Really good.

But, for me, I liked Ringworld and Ringworld Engineers by Larry Niven.

Poul Anderson - The Boat of a Million Years

Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle - Footfall, The Mote in God's Eye

Asimov - Nightfall

Kim Stanley Robinson - the Gold Coast series, Mars series

Anything by Arthur C. Clarke or Gregory Benford

Azimov, Foundation series in particular
William Gibson's early stuff ... Burning Chrome (Hinterlands is one of my favorite short stories ever), Count Zero, Neuromancer, Mona Lisa Overdrive
Niven, although re-reading some of his stuff has been disapointing
Arthur C. Clark, especially Against The Fall Of Night and The City and The Stars
Orson Scott Card, Ender's Game ... didn't care to much for some of the sequels, but Ender's Shadow was pretty good.
