Added spoiler space for anyone who hasn't seen it yet!

I'm still sort of mulling this one over. The way they were promoting it, we were going to finally see "the return of Mulder" which it didn't end up really being. I think it cleared the way for when Mulder does come back to be miraculously "cured" of the brain disease Scully and Skinner found in his file, but other than that, it didn't really advance the whole storyline much. The Doggett thing was dumb, IMO - X-Files works best when at least one of the agents is the skeptic - how can you maintain objectivity when you've been killed, eaten by some mutant then barfed back up and brought back to life?

On the other hand, it was nice to see Doggett step into the main role, and I think R. Patrick did a good enough job that he proved he can carry his share of the series if Gillian decides to go another year without Duchovny.

It was nice to see Skinner again. :)

First episode I've seen in since the Movie. It was really hard getting through the first 40 minutes. Turned out pretty good though. I was also disappointed in the way Moulder was "returning". Was it about 20 seconds he was in it?

You haven't missed much, in my opinion. This show went sour about 3 years ago.

This episode definitely breaks the scale on the weird-o-meter, but I liked it a lot. Seeing Doggett covered in weird guy slobber was weird to say the least. :)

It was weird, and scary and had a pretty good acting job by Dogget. I'm giving it a thumbs up. I'm pissed about that damn false advertising though.:|

first time i saw xfiles was the movie, it was a "special day/occasion"

it is weekly on Fox, and even WB (i'm in N CA)
these new episodes and "weird phenomen" are starting to suck.

Best line of the show comes from Langly, one of the Lone Gunmen: "Hold your horses, Dogbert. Of course, Doggett's reply was just as good - "Langly, are you wearing any pants?"

Anybody else get the Twilight Zone "the monster is good, people are evil vibe"? Seemed almost like an homage.

Yeah, I caught on to that too. But that's what I figured was going on early on in the episode (townspeople bad, flesh eating monster good). Overall, I give this episode a 7. Was fairly entertaining, reasonably shocking/disgusting, and Dogbert (hehe that was funny) did a good job in his first "solo" X-File. Not bad at all.

Started kinda slow, but the last 15 minutes was good. I was expecting to see Mulder back but 30 seconds doesn't count!
