Anyone before that I wasn't even born. People blame Carter for Iran
It is without the slightest bit of irony that many of the people that hold up Eisenhower as one of the best presidents blame Carter for Iran.

That thud, was me hitting the floor.I voted for Reagan twice and he has actually been over hyped IMHO.
There was not an Eisenhower option I guess.
hank God I know what the right answer is.
When you become president?
How Johnson has...
My comment addressed the unexamined assumption implied in the question as to who was the last good President. People have given numerous answers and all of them are just opinions people have about what they think is good. I wanted to thank my god that I know the real right answer so as to distinguish myself from them as they've all been led astray. What kind of childishly simple minded person believes they know the truth better than I do. None of them seem to recognize the fact that they know no better than I do and I know I have no idea. Have you any idea at all how f****d up the world is when it is full of people who know exactly what good is while actually knowing nothing at all? Give the matter a few brain cells of consideration if you want.
LBJ gave us Vietnam. !@#$ him!
moonbeam, i'd vote for you as president
If you judge presidents by how well they gave speeches you're doing it wrong.... just saying...
How did their policies affect U.S. citizens should be the more important factor.
Here's a hint VooDoo economics isn't working out so well....
If you think that President Clinton was responsible for the invasion of Iraq which pretty much guaranteed ISIS would happen you've drunk the crazy juice...
I'll give my vote to Eisenhower. He started great infrastructure projects like the Interstate Highway system... among other things he did before he was elected.
___________
when's the last time we had a good president? i am trying to think back.
Get over your nostalgia. Worry about what to do in the future, quite lying about the past.
Nixon signed the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. He created EPA. He began the movement toward self-determination for Native Americans. He was one of the best Presidents wrt domestic policy.
He also ended the draft.
lmao!I thought I smelled burning rubber.
I thought I smelled burning rubber.

Pretty much. Ike sent advisers, JFK sent SpecOps combat troops. LBJ sent more advisers and troops, but also specifically overturned JFK's documented exit strategy to get the USA out of Vietnam in late '64/early '65. (Although oddly enough, the overwhelming view among historians is that LBJ's Vietnam policy is exactly a continuation of JFK's, even though the documentation suggests otherwise.) Regardless, I doubt anyone sane is considering LBJ for the OP's poll.LBJ gave us Vietnam. !@#$ him!
Sort of how Mussolini made the trains run on time and Hitler brought jobs? 😀Nixon signed the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Impressive.hey, i only got 3/4 of a brain to work with here![]()
nostalgia is all i have, man
hey, i only got 3/4 of a brain to work with here![]()
I think I can help you with both. As long as you maintain a sense of humor in the present as you seem to be able to do you won't miss the past too much and 3/4ths will do.
It was more that Nixon didn't care about domestic policy and was willing to support Congress' domestic policies in trade for support on his foreign policy agenda. It mostly worked.Sort of how Mussolini made the trains run on time and Hitler brought jobs? 😀
