From what I've read, JFK seemed like a nice bloke, as well as Franklin Roosevelt. Ol' Theo was a racist arsehole, as were the other early presidents, so it'd be a stretch ta call 'em decent prezzies.

Bill Clinton's that ol' rapist fella that Christopher Hitchens lambasted time and time again, so he's out.

Was it Nixon or LBJ that was keeping up the propaganda of Vietnam, doing their best to stamp out media efforts to display the horrors the soldiers were up ta?

I voted for Reagan twice and he has actually been over hyped IMHO.

There was not an Eisenhower option I guess.

Before or after the treason?

That's my thought. It really baffles my mind that the President who made the AIDS crisis significantly worse by ignoring and mocking it, committed treason, enacted the worst economic system since serfdom, created the Taliban and Al Quaeda, and is more responsible for the destruction of the middle class than probably any President could be considered a great President.

Honestly he's probably in the top 5 worst.

He was our first Donald Trump.

None really because it depends on what pro's and con's you are observing. Most either just flat out screwed up or did nothing of memorable note at all. Usually it's the one major, decent thing they did that people or history remembers with any fondness, like Lincoln..etc. But every president isn't going to appeal to some so they say they are terrible but not necessarily so.

Within my lifetime? Clinton

Then I would go back to Truman who helped close out the second world war, oversaw the rebuilding of Europe, the organized draw down of the war effort, and kept the Korean war from expanding to China.

It didn't win him many votes by any stretch of the imagination, but he also desegregated the army.

For modern presidents, I'd say Obama. Before my time....JFK or Eisenhower I guess.

Define good...
Obama is weak and inexperienced.
Bush was stupid and bloodthirsty.
Anyone else I didn't live through as an adult.

Bill Clinton enjoyed a good economy and decent budgets, but those were the dot com bubble and Republican Congress via budget battles. He gets credit for not screwing it up. Personally, Clinton was a lowlife who preyed on women and would have been fired from any other job.

Bush Sr... handled the Gulf War correctly. In retrospect not entering Baghdad was brilliant. Puking on the Japanese... not so much. Guy was just too old to be a good President. He lost his budget battle to Democrats.

Speaking of too old to be President... Reagan at least oversaw the end of the USSR, but trickle down economics may be the origin of the suffering our citizens face today. He's the granddaddy of Amnesty and let all the nuts out of the nuthouse. Too many marks against him to be good.

Anyone before that I wasn't even born. People blame Carter for Iran, and an economic crisis in the late 70s. Ford... stepped up to the plate, but don't really know much about his short lived policy. Nixon opened up China and probably did the most for world peace than anyone has since. Then he made his enemies list...

JFK... comedy option? Maybe the only real choice of the bunch.
