who wants to see a badass subwoofer driver?

Its a 15", weighs around 30 pounds. Thats my puny 10" JBL PB-10 driver next to it in one of the pics.

That's a 15" Eclipse Aluma-something or other. Rated at about 1Kw RMS. Takes a sealed box about 1.5cf (net). Feed it anything less than 500watts and you're wasting your time. That thing will suck 1,000watts RMS all day long and not break a sweat.

Use 3/4 MDF. One-inch would be better, but it's hard to find. Use a double layer of 3/4MDF on the baffle (that's the front...the piece that the speaker actually bolts to.)

Oh, and don't use wood screws, they'll rip out. Use T-nuts and machine screws. Much better. Have fun!!!!

Yes, but this one doesn't sound like crap 😉

When it's that loud, how can you tell the difference? 😉

Armen, take a look at this:
12inch Dayton Titanic MK2

Looks like Eclipse, MTX and Dayton are all sourcing their baskets from the same place.
The magnet looks like the same one from the new SVS ultra drivers, but not as tall as the SVS's (which incidentally are from TC sounds IIRC)

What a small world it is 😀

Oh it's easy 🙂

I still have a 15" legacy with a 50lb magnet. I'll have to find it and take some pics. I have to replace the foam surround, as it started to deteriorate.
