I'm doing something wrong?

I hit the download now button and it takes me to a page that says "We're sorry, but no downloads were found matching the criteria specified. We suggest you try the download list with no filter applied, to browse all available files."

Excellent. I nicked this game off Steam for $7 bucks last year and have waited for a Stalker Complete mod to play it.

A lot of people recommend playing vanilla first and then doing mods, but in the case of the Complete mods they mostly change the visuals and only a few gameplay elements are changed. So you can probably get away with installing Complete from the get-go.

Although it might make sense to at least start a game of vanilla so you can see the difference.

Just curious, is there a place in COP that I can store my collected weapons and armor. I'm one of those OCD hoarders that like to keep things. I don't sell things unless I need to.

The blue personal boxes in Skadovsk, Yanov, and Pripyat are all safe places to store stuff. If you store loot in other boxes it's possible someone will steal it.

You will find the game to be much more tedious if you hoard everything. The whole point of STALKER is to carry only what you need. That means 2 guns, 3 at the most, ammo, some medical supplies, and maybe one or two extra artifacts. You can get artifacts and upgrades to increase your carry weight but using one of those artifacts prevents you from using one with more helpful effects.

Starting a few hours in, enemies will start to drop lots and lots of assault rifles. They'll all be too damaged to sell, but you can either repair them and sell them (you can still turn a profit, at least near the end of the game once you've gotten discounts from all the mechanics) or you can go to Pripyat, repair them for free, and then travel back to an area where you can sell them.

I can only imagine how horribly overcrowded your personal box(es) would be if you didn't actually sell anything... dear lord. You'd have like 20-30 each of L85s, AR15s, AK47s, AK74s, AK74us, various shotguns, not to mention all the pistols. That's a lot of back-and-forth trips.

I had a storage container in Clear Sky that would lock the game up when you got near it.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually don't really hoard everything, just at least 1 weapon of each kind, or at least one of everything. I'm traumatized
by playing games like Fallout where I find stuff that I have no idea what they're for, but 30 hours later, I stumble on a quest asking for 10 of said items and I realized I sold it to some random vendor somewhere, hehe.

I need to get used to the fact that I can't kill everything in this game. When I play Fallout, I try to do what I can to clear out every areas I'm in of any evil-doers :)

I hoard things too... :(

There are cheats mods that allow you to carry more weight, but I don't know if they're compatible with the Complete mod. It's rough having to limit how much you can carry. Then maxing out and craaaawling back to base, hoping a pack of dogs (or worse) don't jump you.

That imagery makes me giggle. I can see the headline "Encumbered Stalker Mauled by Mutated Dogs".

Any issues using these with Steam? I used Complete mod with SoC with no problem but that mod was out awhile.

I've had 2-3 crashes over several hours of play, but that's it. I don't think the crashes have anything to do with Steam either.

Thanks for reply.

I installed CoP on Steam - then I installed Pripyat Complete.

Installation went fine. When I tried to start a new game it always hung after the "Press Any Key..." step. I tried three times and gave up.

I am on fully updated Vista 32 and fully updated ATI 4850.
