Aaron Rodgers led me to a victory last year. Should I use my #1 pick to get him again? Because for sure I won't be able to take him in the 2nd round. Thoughts?

What OC said. Though it depends on your format. I belong to a 'receptions count' league so getting Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees early helps because they air it out. Scratch that, Chris Johnson is way to good to pass up

If I had very first pick, I'd pick the guy that absolutely will get the most possible points. A lot of good picks for QB, but a few great picks for RB. Take the opportunity for a great RB while you can, they'll all be gone by 2nd round pick.

totally depends on your league scoring.

For us, there's always 1 or 2 RBs worth the top pics--maybe Johnson and Peterson this year? After that, plenty of QBs and WRs worth a first round pick.

Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Brady, Manning. tough to go wrong with those.

oh, and don't forget Favre, hoping for another monster year. If Romo has finally gotten past his "issues," then he's a good QB IF you've already picked a top RB and/or WR. Romo had his best fantasy year last year, iirc, so if he can carry that over, then he could be a solid pic. that's all in hindsight, though. heh.

CJ or AP. You can't go wrong with either, really. I expect more yards from CJ but possibly more scores from AP... I would probably take CJ though.

Chris Johnson won my fantasy league last year when I picked him 7th IIRC. There is no other choice for #1 pick.

The Vikings receiving corpse is dropping leaving you to know that AP will get more touches than he should for a balanced attack.

Personally, I would take CJ.

CJ has a chip on his shoulder and he's out to prove to the Titans that he deserves a huge payday. I'd suspect he'll come up big this year.

Well let us know how you do this year, I'm sure the 2nd guy in line picked CJ.

you are absolutely crazy for taking rodgers over chris johnson. or over apete. or over ray rice. or over mojo. or over andre

seriously, how did you win last year? you won't be winning this year...you could have gotten a GREAT QB in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round. Top guys. what a waste

Are passing touchdown worth 50 points in your league?
Thats a lot of QBS going fast.

Well on NFL.com's fantasy draft Rodgers is rated slightly higher than CJ for potential points, they were dead even last year. It's a fair pick. First round all the high potential scorers are going, so you have only one shot. First pick... I'm hoping I get 2nd pick so I don't have to make that decision.

RBs have been below QB and WR in my league in scoring terms for several years now. Drew Brees is a fine overall #1 pic. Hell, I've done pretty well by surviving on a RB that I pick up in week 2-4, who comes out of nowhere to step in for an injury or something like that. It seems to work every damn season.

Anyone remember Slaton? :D Or M Jones-Drew?

it doesn't matter that QBs score more than rbs. its more important how QBs do against each other.

espn projects 313 for rodgers as the top QB
12th QB is mcnabb with 226 points.
87 point difference

chris johnson, 293 points
12th guy, jonathon stewart, 184
109 point difference

in a 12 team league, peyton usually goes late 2nd round. brady in the 3rd. romo and schaub in the 4th. compare aaron rodgers to those guys, and then compare chris johnson and the elite RBs to the guys you can take in those later rounds.

Your argument is sound... if people are doing a league with ESPN. On NFL.com the difference between Rogers and Manning last year was 63 points, and Manning is ranked 4th for QB's. I don't even want to see the difference when you get to 12th. But your decision will depend on more than just that. Projected points are one thing, but knowing the whole of a team is important too. New QB? Maybe that RB will get more points and that WR not so much. Recent injuries? High point potential for Favre, but maybe too risky to take. Also if you aren't first pick, then your decision in the first round will be determined by what others choose first.

manning basically didn't play 2 games last year.

in my high QB scoring league, difference between rodgers #1 and the 12th guy is 118 points

for RBs, 1 to 12 is 148

you can get that 12th QB, or even the 7th or 8th, VERY late. you can't get solid running backs that late

if you want rodgers or brees late in the first round, thats fine. but not before pick 6 or so, and absolutely not before the top 4 RBs, and you are INSANE if you take a QB before CJ or AP

I just finished a draft where I had the 1st pick(never had that before!) and I took Johnson. Didn't really think twice about it.

First three picks were CJ, Fitzgerald, and Romo.
