Who Thinks OT was Better Before The Political Forum Was Established?

All the older, more established, deeper thinkers (except me) go there to argue and thus miss all of the neat threads here.

I think we should recombine the two just for the sake of "THE ANANDTECH FORUMS THEMSELVES"

I also miss a lot of their ranting and raving.

Anybody else agree??

Politics is boring as hell to me, I wouldn't like to see political threads here in OT. It's good they're rerouted to a different forum.

I like having the hate and vitriol segregated from OT. When I feel like reading extremist views I can pop over there for a few minutes, get my daily dose of hate, then get back to the rest of the forums.

Not I. Because, everytime something happens (no matter how small) Off Topic will get flooded with repost after repost of it. I realize that this happens anyway but at least its with a different type of drivel.
If people want to see political threads they can click on the Politics thread option in the drop box. Otherwise, if people want to read misc stuff that otherwise has no catagory, they can click on Off Topic.

I have to agree with that. I've only been here a month, but I am often steered away from the P&N forum because of the rampant flaming. The OT forum has flaming, too, but it's always seems more humorous.

You have a good point about this. I usually just ignore the flaming so I don't tend to notice it as much as others would.

I like the banter/humorous flaming in OT and hope it never changes.
