Oh, sure. Because, after all, we never had any hero shows before Irag/Bush. I guess I just imagined Superman, Smallville, Batman, The Hulk, The Flash, The Greatest American Hero, etc..

Yeah you're definitely reading way to much into it. Just enjoy it for what it is. I certainly don't watch it, dreaming that any of them will come and save us from the meany head president and crew.

I like Heroes. It keeps me coming back for more each week and Heroes really may have mysteries, but they're "little tiny doors" that it opens, not huge ones that let the breeze in that's so bad you wanna close 'em!

Right now, here's the outstanding issues in the show:
* Who's Linderman (we know what he is, but no one's seen him.. is he special too?)
* Who's the invisible guy (seen him, but his past is about as shady as his business practices :p)
* When/Why did Claire's mommy and Nathan have their "debate" (it was a one-sided argument if you know what I mean ;))
* Who does Mr. Bennet work for?
* When is Hiro going to become Time Ninja!?

Most of the other things in the show are all part of the main story itself.

I love that people have started calling Hiro "Time Ninja".

That name is AWESOME.

I wouldn't be surprised if something big happened with Nikki. I know her character is weak now, but I see a change. There has to be a reason all the weird sh!t happens to her.

That's the problem. There is WAY too much character development and not nearly enough action. This show moves soooo slowly that I've been able to keep up with the "action" since 24 came back just by watching the 30 second promos.

As much as i like to bash the US, i really don't see how a TV show relates to insecurities or political issues that the US or government may have. The title may have played somewhat of a part in it, because to be honest, when i first heard the name and that it involved a bomb in NYC, i thought it was about terrorism and such. And when i head they had superpowers, i thought it was ridiculous. But watching the show, i thought it was very interesting. But then again, i grew up with xmen comics.

No kidding. Fantasy stories have been told as deviations from reality for thousands of years (at least) yet aidanjm thinks this show is popular due to the invasion of Iraq or Bush. Pathetic commentary at the least.

Well, if wolverine was in the show, sylar would have been dead in the first episode, and there would not be a second season.

On a positive note, the multicultural aspect of the show is an interesting change. I've never seen so many non-Caucasian people in a mainstream US program. Altho the producers completely lack balls when it comes to Zac's homosexuality. It's all so hush hush.

The show is awesome... grow yourself some imagination, and take your politics herehere

trying to say American's are dumb and don't want to deal with their issues at hand by watching a TV show? puh-lease.

breaks are never good for shows - I still don't understand why they do them...24 never has a break, and i watch every episode... prison break had a huge break, i havn't gotten back into watching it yet, same with heroes.... what marketing idiot decided mid-season breaks were a good idea?

TWO duelling serials are forcing fans of both shows to make a tough choice on Monday nights.

For three consecutive weeks, the two best serialized dramas on television - "24" on Fox and "Heroes" on NBC - have been duking it out Monday nights at 9.

While the race has been close, "Heroes" - the upstart, comic-book serial about ordinary people with extraordinary powers that premiered last September - is so far beating "24," which started its sixth season just last month.

If you're keeping score, "Heroes" won Week One Jan. 22 with 14.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen, vs. 14.5 million for "24." Among 18-49s, "Heroes" also won, 8.6 million to 7.1 million.

In week two, "24" won in overall viewers, 14.04 million to 13.6 million, while "Heroes" won in the demo, 7.95 million to 7.1 million.

And this week, "Heroes" drew more viewers - 14.6 million to 13.6 million - and also won the demo race, according to Nielsen numbers released yesterday.

Stick with Lifetime and the History channel then.

Zac's homosexuality is not hidden at all, but being in highschool and in Texas is not a good place for it.

BS. Heroes is as deep as anime. Unlike most other shows, this isnt a superhero like show. It has much more dept than superman/batman/any other American comic to date. As with anime, it takes a few episodes before becomes good. Although it is already good. Comparing it to such mindless kid comics would be an insult. Have anyone here watched the show from the start before complaining? It is not like Lost because the story line does move, Lost is just constantly people talking.
