The only thing he has done since he was elected is bombing Iraq pretending the US planes were threatened... AH AH AH... So easy !
Just like when Clinton bombed Iraq during the Lewinski affair...

I have been deploying to the Gulf area since Desert Shield as an engine mech/crew chief with various F-16 squadrons, mostly SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defense) units. Coalition aircraft ARE under constant threat, and having a safe zone for active enemy anti-aircraft assets would be idiotic. The Iraqophiles on this thread seem to think that because Saddam hasn't bagged any Coalition jets since the war he hasn't tried.

there is almost no possible way that saddam can attack america, unless he comes here himself and straps dynamite to his chest. they dont have the power for ICBMs to be launched from Iraq to anwhere in the US.

Iraq is a bad deal for the US. The only way we win, is if the Iraqi people (or at least some liberal faction of the socially elite) dispose of Saddam themselves. Otherwise, we either let Saddam off the hook when we decide to forget about it (unlikely event) OR turn the entire middle east against the US and western policies of NATO when we kill him. To win this war of wills, we have to wait out Saddam while not turning him into a martyr. He already gets way too much underdog votes. Bush isn't dumb for endorsing this military action...its his only realistic option.
