Who still uses Usenet?

I dabbled in Usenet after this thread popped up. Backed out when I found out I didn't use it and already had better options.

Just found this place if anyone is still looking for a nice indexer. Looks like it's a newznab indexer.
They have open registration right now which is nice.

I didn't see anything that made Dogz superior to other NZB sites, pretty much the same content everywhere.

Not exactly, but pretty close. It is the communities that make them different, and when NZBMatrix when down we learned not to put all our eggs in one basket.

Lack of community is the biggest difference between the old Matrix and all the current index sites, not a single one has a decent community doing reviews or reporting problems with certain uploads.

I've noticed that too. At first I thought it was because of the way that indexers were disappearing that everyone was waiting for things to stabilize before getting involved again. But the ones left are now pretty stable, and still there is no participation.

Actually you are wrong.

There is plenty of a community on many nzb indexing sites.

I would have to disagree. I've got an account on 5-6 different NZB sites, if you added them all together it would still be just a fraction of the community input on Matrix before it closed.

Anyone know of one of the private indexers that encrypt their uploads with the random post names? I've been seeing that more and more and was wondering if that is something I missed. Maybe that is where the community went.
