<< is there a good worthy reason to smoke? >>

Yes. It prevents me from grabbing my Savage Tactical Model 110FP and climbing the nearest tall building.

plenty reason enough for me ! need a light ? 😀

Uh, Harv, AmusedOne doesn't smoke. He quit over two years ago. Nice attempt. Next victim, please.

<< AmusedOne -- I'm out. You haven't said diddly squat, but all you can do is try to demean whatever I say by calling it BS or pathetic. You can believe whatever you want, and you can spew whatever lame aspersions you wish, but it doesn't make it so.

Me thinks your mind is too clouded by your own smoke. All I can do is pity the shallowness of your thinking. 🙁

Nice try, but I don't smoke.

My thinking isn't shallow. I recognize there is a problem, but I don't suffer from immediate, knee-jerk reactionism like: tobacco should be illegal. I can actually LEARN from history and see how this would cause far more problems than it would solve. Not to mention the government has no place limiting individual liberties like this.

I recognize there's a problem, but I don't try to blame everyone else for the CHOICE the smoker makes. No one twisted your friend's arms and made them smoke. And no one twisted their arms and kept them from quitting. It was THEIR CHOICE.

I recognize there's a problem, but I don't claim to have any solution other than education. People have been self destructing since the beginning of time, and it's been against one law or another for nearly that long. You aren't coming up with any new ideas that haven't failed long, long ago and many, many times over.

<< Me thinks... >>

I'd like to see that.

Tobacco is legal, someone is going to sell it. Make tobacco illegal and somone will still sell it, only they'll be gangs performing drive bys on each other and killing people who don't make the choice to smoke.

That's highly doubtful. Do you see anyone doing drive-bys because marijuana's illegal?

Marijuana is not NEARLY as addictive as Cigs.

Oh yeah- I dont smoke cigs, and I smoke weed occasionally

don't smoke weed anymore...feel like i'm getting too old for it.

quit smoking cigs last christmas (only smoked like a pack a week anyway)...now i only smoke when i drink.

parliament lights!!!! if only they weren't bad for you... 🙁

I've probably smoked the equivalent of about 5 packs in my life. Weird array, too: Merit Ultra Lights, Marlboro Lights (the ubiquitous cig) and Camel Special Lights. I haven't had a cigarette for about 2 years, maybe more. It can be a delightful pleasure to smoke a cigarette, though, so it is a shame if you abstain completely forever. You just can't make a habit out of it.

People die every day because of the underground pot market. When was the last time tobacco farmers booby trapped their crops? Well, that happens all the time in Northern California pot fields.

When ever there is a large amount of money to be made in the underground market for ANYTHING, it becomes dangerous.

The stupidity of those who seek to make drugs or vice of any kind illegal is that it is the drugs or activities themselves that make the drug or vice trade dangerous beyong the health risks inherent to the drug or vice. Hardly. It is the black markets that pop up in the place of legitimate venders that becomes dangerous.

Off and on, American Spirit Ultra Lights.

What doesn't kill you? Fast food, soda, caffiene, too much red meat, refined sugars, which I've all but entirely quit anyway. Cigarettes are quite the crutch though, even a light pack a week habit.

Links? Sure they booby trap their crops. But how many deaths do you get a year due to this?

I have become more and more disgusted with other people smoking. I used to not mind it a whole lot, but over the past year or so I have really started to take offense at people smoking. Healthwise, it is about the single worst thing you can do to yourself besides putting a bullet in your head.
