who sells good tv remote controls??

i broke my last one. and how do you set it so that the tv accepts the remote control?? i don't think i have the user manual, but the back of my tv shows the model number, serial number, etc..

Universal remotes come with a code list. You type a code into the remote and it knows what to do.

You need to put the two of them together. Don't push them in each other's face right away. Let them take their time to accept each other. Eventually, the tv will come to accept the remote control.

I heard there was a program to change the TV with your laptop... anyone know of this?

You can control your TV with any programmable infrared transmitting device.

Don't know, google it. I'm sure it's pretty device-dependent, unless a company makes a program for multiple platforms.
