the dress code at my high school was worse. no uniforms, but we were required to wear suits every day.
we had spring dress code during the first few weeks of September and during May finals, but spring dress code just meant we could walk around without the suit jacket on (jackets were required to be worn any time you were not in a classroom, cafeteria, or gym).
the punishment for not being in dress code was jug ("judgement under god." the jesuit version of detention. after school, the dean would write a sentance on a chalk board and pass out graph paper. you were required to write the sentance over and over again, with each letter taking up one box on the graph paper and no spaces/punctuation allowed, until you had filled up every square). depending on the severity of the offence and frequency, multiple jug's would be assigned.
you get over it.
