Because Lemaître spent his entire career in Europe, his scientific work is not as well known in the United States as that of Hubble or Einstein, both well known in the U.S. by virtue of residing there. Nevertheless, Lemaître's theory changed the course of cosmology. This was because Lemaître:
  • Was well acquainted with the work of astronomers, and designed his theory to have testable implications and to be in accord with observations of the time, in particular to explain the observed redshift of galaxies and the linear relation between distances and velocities;
Does that include his theory that "God did it"? Was that "theory" designed to have testable implications and in accord with observations of the time?

Fuck the BIA. (and the Bureau of Veteran's Affairs)

now i get why boomerd does not live on the reservation

:biggrin:

There was a grocery store just outside the reservation. One week, they ran a big special on toilet paper.

The chief of the tribe thought it was such a good price that he bought an entire truckload for the res.

A few days later, the chief came back to return the toilet paper.

"What's the matter Chief, something wrong with the toilet paper?" the store manager asked?

The chief replied, "We call that John Wayne toilet paper. Rough and tough...and no take shit off Indians."

Thanks folks, I'll be here all week. Don't forget to try the fish.

have a question

near a ranch owned by some of my extended family in the black hills there are some indian neighbors. since the area is so big you never see their propery or them but you can hear them when they dance. my question is that there seems to be no reservations in the black hills

do non reservation private property of native americans have any special rights that they might otherwise have on the reservation

So who's your choice Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson or Gregor Clegane? The 3rd pic is actor Conan Stevens who played Gregor in the first season.
