Who remembers "The Sega Channel"?

I was among the few children who received a Sega Master System for Christmas rather than the more popular Nintendo. At first I was a little bitter because I wanted to play Super Mario Brothers so badly but then played a few games of Outrun, Wonder Boy III, & Cloud Master and never looked back.

At one point I was going to purchase the 32X for my Genesis but thankfully didn't. They produced what, five titles for that system? The hardware was terrible.

Sega Channel owned so damn much. It was heaven...

It really did...I can remember on the last day of a month, I would stay up late waiting for the new games to be loaded. That thing was f'in awesome.

As to how it worked, i think it had a cable modem built in (which was cool for way back then), and you screwed in the cable line and voila! Games on demand. It was basically the same thing all the providers are tryin to do right now, but with cartridges.
