as i was pooping at work today scanning the newspaper, i flipped across the comics.

aside from dilbert, which is humorous from time to time, literally every other comic in there is crap. not even a sliver of humor. at all. why are they even printed? WHO actually enjoys these things?

Old people.

Yep. I read them every morning. Best part of the newspaper...and the first thing I read.

OP, your post comes with a "404 Sense of Humor" not found warning.

While I agree that not all of them are ROFL funny, some are at least mildly amusing...and generally far funnier than Dilbert.

i used to
then internet took over and i read the paper less. sadly haven't looked at the comics in a long time

There are still some comics that I read. My grandmother always saves all the Sunday funnies for me to read when I come to visit.

I read them when I do the crosswords. I still love Shoe,Get Fuzzy, and Pearls before Swine. A lot of the good ones are long gone. Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes and Fox Trot.

Had no idea they were still around. Seriously, after Farside and Calvin and Hobbes...what's the point?

Why the hell has Garfield survived the last 2 decades?

I read foxtrot.

I read the following on a daily basis:

Baby Blues, Brevity, Dilbert, Drabble, F Minus, FoxTrot Classics, Frank and Ernest, Garfield, Get Fuzzy, Herman, Lio, Loose Parts, Luann, Mutts, Non Sequitur, Over the Hedge, Pearls Before Swine, Pickles, Reality Check, Speed Bump, The Duplex, Ziggy, Zits

The ones I've highlighted are still funny, IMO.

I haven't bought/read a newspaper on a regular basis since high school and the new york times never really had comic strips in it.

I might flip through them if I'm at my parents house with nothing else to do, though... my dad is a crossword puzzle fiend and the section of the paper with the x-word is the same as the one with the comic strips, so it's usually laying out somewhere in the tv room or kitchen.

Dilbert, Get Fuzzy, Frazz, and Pearls Before Swine are what I still read, but I read them all in my RSS reader, not printed on dead trees.
