are u saying valubles like rings other stuff like that

cuz i think they said(in that thread) use a safe to throw like expensive headphones in, wallet, dvds/games
other stuff like that

or should i not worry about anything like that getting stolen?

I have NEVER heard of anyone bringing a safe. I never had anything stolen. I think if you are prudent and keep your room locked up tight (and make sure your roommate does too!) you won't have a problem.

Hey, CU Boulder - that's my school! I've been going three years, so I know it pretty well.

First thing I should tell you to bring is winter clothes. Coat, boots, probably hat. It's been known to snow in July here. And you won't have time to go home to get winter clothes; it can snow several inches in the morning and melt by nightfall. You don't want to be caught in a light jacket when it's below freezing outside. Welcome to Colorado weather! 🙂

Bike is good. Boulder seems to be the most bike-friendly place this side of the Atlantic. But bring a lock, too.

It sounds like you'll either be in the Quad or Will Vill (Williams Village) where I lived for two years. AFAIK, both have coin washers/dryers.

If you're keeping your car, and won't use it too much, buy a permit at Will Vill's cheap dirt lot. You can ride the "stinky" Buff Bus to get to it from the Quad. And they make parking exceptions for move in/out.

Food isn't vital. You'll have like a 100-foot walk to dining halls at either location. And they really do have pretty good food. Otherwise you'll have about a 100-200ft walk to either the Hop or the Bound bus, respectively, to get to Crossroads Mall. And all the RTD buses are better than the school-bus-type Buff Bus.

Do bring hangers. TP should be provided, if you don't mind the generic stuff. I can't speak for the safe since I never had roommates (terrible allergies got me singles). But I don't think anyone I know has one.

Oh, you may want a TV. As your room will be small (smaller if it's not Will Vill room) I'd suggest a TV card for your computer. I wish I'd brought one. A flat panel wouldn't hurt, either.

Please PM me with any other questions (although I don't check my PM's often, I'll try to.)
