I lived in Houston for the first 18 years of my life. Then another 1.5 a few years later. Now, I'm right outside Houston (Spring/The Woodlands).

Never really considered Houston "cool." It's not that great, unless you work for the oil/gas industry.

I'm living in Memphis, but it's not cool.

It's cool for us who live 1 hour away it is the only place besides Jonesboro to do decent shopping. I live in a small town in Arkansas, all we have to shop at is wal-mart and it isn't even a supercenter.

Thomasville, GA Long ago was a favorite winter tourist destination. President Eisenhower hunted quail here. Jackie Kennedy visited a Catholic church here and got a lot of attention. The area still has quite a few plantations, one of which was the first place where 'Gone With The Wind' was shown. Also well known for it's annual Rose festival each spring. A boring little town very close to the also boring capitol of FL- Tallahassee.

I live in San Antonio.

I wouldn't say there was anything necessarily cool about it but the Alamo and river walk is downtown.
