Who offers the best "Extended Warranty, especially for laptops?"

Im in the market for a laptop, I like the Averatec because of size and price, but definitely want a nice extended warranty since I will be traveling with it. (In case LCD breaks etc.)

IBM has excellent warranty service, but they're more expensive than that one you mentioned. They maintain service centers around the country where you can take them in for repair.

I'm such an IBM fanboy it's not even funny, but I have good reason. They make a fantastic laptop.

Retail store - Circuit City

Online - IBM or Dell

Do you plan on purchasing this laptop with a VISA, MasterCard or Amex credit card?

Agreed. R32 owner here. 😀

i say, buy an IBM Thinkpad and enjoy the 3 year warranty 😀

oh yeah, Thinkpad fan boy checking in 😛

I would stay Staples over BB or CUSA. If you go to one of those two places then you will have people like you and I trying to fix the laptop. Whereas through Staples, its contracted through manufacturer authorized repair centers. I havent had any experience with Circuit City.

remember that unless it's one of those special "everything's covered" plans, they will not cover your broken screen because they'll consider it to be your fault.

I will be buying it with my Visa Check/Debit card. I cant afford an IBM. Unless I can get the T41 for $1399 with the 3 year warranty, but still that is stretching it. 🙁

That's true about BB, but Circuit City has authorized repair centers as well.
