Who makes the Smart & Friendly 12x drive?

I was just curious if these are just rebranded drives as I might be purchasing one of those.

Yamaha made them S&F just put their name on them but the are out to lunch (warranty would be a nightmare if any is avail). Darn good deal though...

sanyo makes it.

Mine's done quite a few burns, all perfect
I use Ricoh (slightly greenish) cd-r's, all read good by just about any cdrom.

Yes Sanyo... you can use the latest Sanyo Bios flash on them too.. I did a few weeks ago on mine.

JVC made your drive. I don't think you can expect anything from SAF.
