Who makes the better wireless router...........Dlink of Linksys?

I've never had problems with dlink products but I've heard some horror stories about thier wireless routers.

Cheers,

Linksys I think
But I never used them, and I am using dlink right now.

I do have 2 of dlink products went wrong
and heard people recommend linksys instead.

ive been using my Dlink 524 wireless router but has some problems like slow speed, disconnections, unreliable firmware...I would avoid this model. In another room I have a 3com which runs perfectly and always has consistent speed throughout the day.

In some australian router forums I've heard good stuff about Billion (sp?) however, I'm not sure if they have worldwide availability/sell under a different name elsewhere.

Given I've got both Netgear and Linksys in my house atm between the two I'd recommend the Netgear as it just seems to work that little bit more smoothly. Don't get the Netgear 108mbps though as that thing is *extremely* notorious* for burning up on people as if many of the G wireless weren't bad enough

I have

SMC Router
Belkin Access Points
Linksys Wireless Print Server
Dlink, Broadcom, Intel, Netgear Wifi cards.

I had a really bad experience with Dlink routers but their wifi cards work great, usb ,etc.

Belkin are rebadge linksys..

I have a netgear model... It worked great for about 6 months until I moved to RI, and then died. I think netgear will replace it, but for now I am wired direct to my cable modem.

I had a dlink router for about a year that was sh!tty

I beg to differ. Unless it's free, Stay away from the Netgear 614 series. The performance is horrid.

I just bought the WRT54GX and the NIC to match, and I've never seen a router this powerful. I'm absolutely amazed at it's capabilities (I'm able to pick up a signal outside and down the street from my house and still surf fairly well).

Linksys has my nod (I've had multiple problems with D-Link, but I used a Netgear previous to this router for about a year and a half without issue).

Yep I have the same router at home too, picked it up about 2 weeks ago. I have owned and worked with all brands and types of wireless routers and AP's, trust me Linksys is the best hands down. D-Link products are not horrible, but I wouldn't recomend them over Linksys. Go with the WRT54GX!!! you won't be sorry.....STAY AWAY FROM NETGEAR!!!!!

With Linksys, you can also get modded firmwares like the Sveasoft one, which can unlock a ton of extra features. This alone make it worth the extra cash to buy a Linksys.

D-link is fine BUT only if you flash the latest firmware.

Linksys is very good as well.
