motorola has flat out the worst interfaces and keypads of any electronic product i've ever used. my vote actually goes to samsung, and here's why: they make a cheap, simple-to-use, reliable, durable, battery-sipping phone that slides in and out of your pocket easily. they do everything they are supposed to do well. they are flip so i don't have to lock and unlock buttons all day, but unlike motorola, they aren't flimsy and don't make brittle plastic creaking noises every time you touch them, or have play in the mechanisms.
edit: as much as i liked my sony phones, they weren't any better at anything than samsung's, and they mostly make stick phones. they rule on built-in ring-tones and alarms, but that's not enough to justify the cost and the crappy screens.
