Who makes the Best Video Card for under $100?

Nvidia, ATI or someone else? I don't want any compatibility problems with anything. I want the most for under $100.

I would definitely say get the 8500LE, it can be OC'd to retail speeds and with the latest Catalyst drivers, will beat any gF3.

Allstarshop.com has the 9000 for $75 shipped. Royal has it with 128MB for $96.20. Do I need 128MB?
Is the 8500LE a better card then the 9000?

the extra 64mb doesn't really help, and the 8500 is better than the 9000.

$75 for the 9000 is a pretty nice deal, unless you can pick up a 8500 for under $95.

I would get the 8500LE. I have the retail version and love the card. I have been having problems with Counter-Strike lately, but they only cropped up very recently and I have no problems anywhere else. Also, I don't think it is related to my card. I have Windows 2000 and a SB Live! Value, which I believe is the culprit.

I'm Going to bed. I will check this thread tomarrow. Please keep this thread going. I want to buy a card monday. It looks like I will probably get the 8500LE or the 9000.

Get the 8500LE. Whether you should get the 64MB or 128MB version depends on how long you plan on keeping the card and what games you plan on playing. 64MB is fine for today's games and you really won't notice much difference with the 128MB version. However, future games will have huge textures and will really need the 128MB of RAM. For instance, Doom 3 will have 80MB of textures. So if you're going to keep this card for 6 mos. or more, get the 128MB version, besides, its only $15-$20 more.

The 8500LE is the best bang for the buck at the moment. These cards kick some major a$$ for 90 bucks or so. Newegg, Nutrend, Googlegear all carry them...

The 8500 is the winner! Thanks for all the input! I bought the 8500LE 128MB for $102 at computer 123.

I bought the 8500LE. I am having problems getting it to run Tribes 2 in win XP pro. Check out my question in the General Harware forum. Maybe someone can help solve my problem.
