it was an independent soda company that was bought one of the majors, but they were smart enough to keep it around. it happens a lot. for example, Canada Dry Ginger Ale and Schweppes Ginger Ale are actually owned by the same company. they're competing with themselves but who cares if each has its own fans.

It was the first "diet" drink out,using sachhrin(sp?) instead of sugar. Came out in the mid to late sixties by Coke,tasted like crap but girls liked to drink it. It was pretty hip for the time.
