Who makes quality UPSs?

Apparently APC is no slouch, but I need to find out who else makes quality UPSs, putting out at least 750VA and which have sine wave output (not stepped or simulated sine wave) and filtered, line-conditioned/AVR, etc.
Thanks.

Now for the impossible: anywhere that normally has good prices on these?! I'd even go refurb if they were done right :)

You are unlikely to find "good prices" and "sine output" at the same time. Even most of APC's consumer models are stepped output. Their Smart-UPS line has mostly (but not all) sine output models, but they are by no means cheap. The 700NET model retails for $400 and has sine output.

I've had a Belkin and an APC Back-UPS Pro for about 6 months now. Both are stepped output with AVR and I have not had a problem with either through the few power outages and dips so far. I like the Belkin software much better, and it works pretty well cross platform too.

Tripplite also seems to have a wide range of product lines, but I don't know about their reputation.

I'm using a Belkin 800va UPS with my system. It saved me from loosing my data a few times when the power went out. The UPS will keep my system running for around 20mins.

I got a little MGE, but it isn't line interactive.

I think you could find a ups that suits your needs here: MGE.

How about a line conditioner--I know there's no backup if the power goes off, but do they really put out CLEAN power? Are they basically the same as a good UPS minus the battery back up?

Belkin, Tripplite, and APC are all reliable standards. There are others, but those are the main ones. Biggest market share is APC - they are ubiquitous in the stores. I bought two at Costco (Tripplite) and one at Best Buy (Belkin.)
