What ingredients do you think would be in 100% chocolate syrup?

100% chocolate would (a) not be syrup and (b) taste nasty.

thats a good, basic coco syrup recipe. if you want it syrupy you have to add....tada...a sweetener and a liquid. chocolate isnt a natural syrup so im not really sure what you expect.

No matter what, in this country you'd have to legally call it chocolate *flavor* syrup or something like that. You couldn't call it chocolate. There are clear federal definitions for chocolate, and a syrup doesn't meet it.

Others touched on it, but it would be impossible to have "100% chocolate syrup." It has to have liquid and sugar. What are you expecting, some chocolate syrup tree that some indigenous South America tribe taps into then sell at Whole Foods?

Dude, you're thinking of a candy bar.

Even those aren't pure chocolate. pure chocolate is bitter, very bitter.

Pure chocolate doesn't even exist in a form you'd want..

unless you're talking about the cacao pod itself. The cacao pod can be thought of like a giant peanut... you have to harvest the pod, process it, remove the beans, clean them, then roast them. Next the shells are removed to extract the nib. Finally, the nibs are ground and liquefied, resulting in pure chocolate in fluid form: chocolate liquor. The liquor can be further processed into two components: cocoa solids and cocoa butter.

From this, you get your chocolate blends

Dark chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, and (sometimes) vanilla
Milk chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, milk or milk powder, and vanilla
White chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, milk or milk powder, and vanilla

You cant have something that has 100% of a substance in it, or it would be, just that substance. So syrup with 100% chocolate would be just chocolate. Even chocolate bars are not 100% chocolate, they're maybe like 30%? Lot of sugar and milk is added. You can buy specialty chocolate bars that are like 70% and think it goes up to like 95% but they don't exactly taste your your standard chocolate bar.

You can get 100% baker's chocolate with no sugar at all but it comes in hard blocks and is way too bitter for most people to eat. My dad is such a chocoholic he will eat it if there is no other chocolate in the house though.

I eat it too.
I went to my grocery store and they had toll house bakers chocolate in the blocks for $1 a bar on discount because people were only buying the semi sweet. Got enough to last me a loooong time.

To the OP.
Take the bakers chocolate , melt with double boiler, and add a small amount of oil, peanut oil works well. It keeps forever even without refrigeration.
