Used to live in the Grand Rapids area.

what part of GR???

i'm currently in cascade

I grew up there, still have most of my family there. Myself and my older brother are the only two that are out of state. The rest are in Michigan. Went to Catholic Central, lived close to the East Grand Rapids area. Love that area. Have a brother in Ada, sister in comstock park, I have another sister that lives in the cascade area. 🙂

not many people i find online are from this area... i went to forest hills, and i'm sure glad to be outta there... it sounds like you have relatives all over the city; you've got most of the major areas covered... EGR is pretty nice, hate the cops there tho, seems like they have too much free time....

anyways, it's nice to know that somebody else on here is from GR, as boring a town as it is.

Nice to meet you. 🙂 I have a few more that are scattered throughout the city too. Some very long time friends there. I wouldn't move back there. I do like to visit my family, love them dearly, but, yes, it can be boring at times. I hope to get back there sometime next year, we'll see. Used to hangout in the Eastown area, some bars down that way. You ever try, the Yesterdog? Been there forever, great old fashion hot dogs. There are some newer bars in the downtown area. Hopefully try them someday.

yesterdog.... if you live in GR and you haven't been there, you're missing something... but yeah, there are a couple quality bars downtown, but i usually tend to hang out on 28th st. and avoid paying a cover, it's not like the bars downtown are that good

I am sure things have changed, bars come and go. What was considered the place to hangout, a new one pops up to take it's place. 28th street has some decent bars.

Downriver area. (South of Detroit for those of you not up on the lingo. 🙂)

Although I grew up in the Canton/Plymouth area.

I'm currently in East Lansing, to be learned.

My home, home is in Rockford, MI. RHS Graduate... ahaha. Rockford blew.

Rockford is ~10 miles north of Grand Rapids on 131

I am in Ferndale -> before in Ann Arbor...

cool, i'm thinking about buying a house in ferndale next year.

Ferndale years ago use to be the armpit next along with Detroit but they are upscale now and a lot of 20's something moving there. Lots of good restaurants and shopping. Affordable housing that will only go up in value. Complete turnaround from 15-20 yrs ago

Jim also left off the fact that Ferndale is notorious for being the "gay city". If you don't believe me, check the sidewalks or any of the restaurants for yourself.

btw, if anyone here's knows of a job opening for a soon-to-be MIS major, LMK! 😀
