heh. I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger.

the mood still strikes me now and then, and I'll whip out some old cd's. it's usually pretty good for relaxing myself.

I love new age music :)

Adiemus, Deep Forest, and Medwyn Goodall are all pretty good, not to mention Native American-esque stuff like music from David and Steve Gordon.

edit: what is this stuff?

Don't know but I'm starting to like it. A track by Tangerine Dream was really good.

I liked it back when I was in high school and the first year or so of college, but now (~10 years later) I really don't care for it much.

Electronica is not equal to New Age.

di.fm is typically techno/house/electronic/trance....all yummy.

Tangerine Dream really cannot be classified as New Age music. Granted New Age has no clear definition, TD is too diverse to be considered a part of the genre.

Whatever you want to call it, Tangerine Dream goes back four decades and they make some of the best music ever, New Age or otherwise, including ~40 soundtracks, Neverending Story being amongst my favorite. There's plenty of great music I've never heard di.fm stream, including Bella Sonus, GOL, Aschera and Blonker. Not a bad place to start though :)

OP is referring to electronica....hence saying it sounds like an RPG.

New Age is something totally different.

You obviously haven't been to di.fm.

If you had you would realize that they indeed have New Age as well as Classical, Jazz, Salsa, and other non-electronica types of music.

And those sound like RPG's?

edit: besides di.fm is PURE electronica...go look at the stations

well maybe the particular song he heard at the time DID sound like an RPG.

I like New Age myself; especially the works of Kitaro and Mannheim Steamroller.
