You people have such a great taste in music. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Cant forget Ted Nugent, Whitesnake, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Zebra, Triumph, UFO, Scorpions, Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath, Legs Diamond

Keep them coming!🙂

Agreed, but I consider most of 'em metal or rock. It comes from being rather old (27) and remembering some as cutting-edge -- hard to think of them as classic rock no matter how old they are 😛 ie. Maiden, Sabbath, and Van Halen, among others.

Yea, they are pretty heavy. I cant consider Van Halen metal though😛

Anyone happen to like Golden Earring? They are such a great band. They have been around since 65 and released an album last year. If you would like to hear a couple of good songs from them, try to get the songs "Radar Love" and "Twilight Zone." Radar love is from 1973 and Twilight Zone is from 1982. Great songs.

Yes, unfortunate as it is, people who deserve to die exist 🙁

Expanding on my mention of the Allman Brothers... wow... Anyone who hasn't given them a serious listen needs to seriously reconsider their lives. Do yourself a favor and acquire a few albums, or at the very least Whipping Post, Melissa, No One To Run With, Ramblin' Man, and Blue Sky.

Bad Company hasn't been mentioned. Also, a great band in addition to what has been mentioned.

Yeah, Bad Company is one of my all time favorite bands.

Honestly, I have never liked the Allman Brothers. They seem too "Countryish" to me. So does Lynard Skynard. Grateful Dead too. The only song I liked from The Grateful Dead was Cream Puff War.

🙁 I can see where you're coming from, especially considering the current state of politics in the U.S... but I'm born & raised in NY and feel as I've said I feel.... It's more about what they're saying, imo... At any rate, I've said in other posts (and stand by it) that the ONLY genre I won't listen to is country - I consider the Allman Bro's and Skynard to be Southern Rock though 😉 And the dead were formed in Frisco, no southern influences there. Seriously, give the Bro's a good listen, if the herbal influence is required, get some and listen to them without bias.

Hey Gurck,

Lynard Skynard and The Allman Brothers are coming to San Antonio in November. My favorite Classic Rock Station, KZEP 104.5, always have a commercial about Skynard and the Allman Brothers saying something like "Great Southern Rock." The reason I bought up the Grateful Dead, is because they sounded quite like the Allman Brothers. I have like two songs from them, and I didnt like them much. But I do know many people who like Lynard Skynard and the Allman Brothers. I dont think they suck, but just not my kind of Rock and Roll. 🙂

I guess I will listen to some Allman Brothers. I will try to buy some of the songs from the iTunes music store. I will let you know what songs I listened to. 🙂

That's cool, individual tastes certainly will vary. We're barking up different sides of the same tree - and can both laugh at people barking up the sides of the diseased saplings known as Linkin Park, Britney Spears, etc. Oh, and btw (thanks, WinAmp's random feature) - has anyone mentioned Sting & The Police? Another top-10 for me. Oh, am I old... sooo old... 😛

Yes, Sting is awesome. His voice is kind of like raw silk.

Though I do like a few Linkin Park songs... Classic Rock is what I listen to almost Exclusively (in fact, the only bands that are considered "new rock" that I listen to on any kind of regular basis are Evanescence, Five for Fighting, and, well, Evanescence).

Hi Gurck

LOL! What I dont like is Linkin Park, Slipknot, Slayer, and of course Britney Spears. Hey, you arent old. I listen to Golden Earring, my favorite Classic Rock band, and they have been around since 65! The Police are so cool. ROXANNE!!

By the way, I bought these songs from the Allman Brothers: Brothers of the Road, Dont you want no more, Trouble no more, Dreams, Whipping Post and Ramblin Man.

The only song I didnt like was Ramblin Man, and the rest I liked. They are actually pretty good. 🙂

BTW, No one has mentioned Boston!!

i see many members have great taste here!
plus, being a drummer, it is the most satisfying/ fun genre to play.

Led Zeppelin is great. Favorite song is Whole lotta love.
Any one else? 🙂

immigrant song...

Stairway to Heaven is the only song I've ever heard that makes me wonder how in the hell a human (like myself) could come up with such a masterpiece. A perfect combination of all elements of music.
