Now this company will build you a new Delorean if you have the cash (only the frame is used, but it is completely refurbished). Its a little steep, but I would love to have one of these...

My brother in law actually bought a delorean off of ebay, then flew to Texas to pick it up and drive it back,
Not sure what he did with it will have to ask him next time I see him.

$5200 for a 200hp V-6???? WTF are they smoking?

200hp won't do sh!t for that porker!

I don't know a whole lot about Deloreans but there has to be something else you could do for under $5000 to make more than 200hp. That thing needs at least 300hp to make it feel like a decent sports car. I'm sure there has to be turbo kits out there. Hell....for 5k i'm sure you could either make a kit yourself or pay someone to do it.

I may be wrong, but I doubt that is a proprietary engine to DMC. There has to be aftermarket go-fast parts floating around for it.

But then again, I may just be talking outta my ass :)

Ahh, so this is why Mill is being charged for making 500 cars per year. It all makes sense now.

The stuff I love about this car:

1. choice between a 5-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic! Yeah, baby! Haven't had a 3-speed auto in over 25 years now!! LOL

2. with all the stereo choices, I don't see one that offers us an 8-track player! Geez, will I ever be able to find a car with that???

3. 140 MPH Speedometer.......yeah......right.......not sure how useful that would be, even with that awesome 200hp V6!!

4. And, as stated above, no flux capacitor or Mr Fusion options???? ;)

Funniest Delorean I ever saw for sale was in an Auto Trader. The guy was advertising his Delorean with "factory red paint". Hmmmm......didn't these all come in unpainted stainless steel???

Actually, I'm pretty sure they came in red and black if you wanted to order them that way. It was quite expensive though IIRC because it's not exactly an easy trick to get paint to stick well to stainless. It's some sort of gel coat or something.

I've definately seen a fair share of red ones and a couple of black ones over the years though.

I think that same car is on eBay right now. The description says the dealer painted it because he was overstocked and thought it'd help move more cars. It doesn't look that bad.

Still, if I were to get a delorean it would be stainless.

There's also like 5 either gold or gold plated DeLoreans floating around. Much expensive, even if someone's willing to sell.

The original engine for the Delorean I thought was made by Renault

Not too bad, but only really for the coolness of having a Delorean.

True... I'm not a car person, but my understanding is that they were never a very good car in terms of power, handling, etc.

But they look really really cool.

Plus is you go past 80 MPH... you time travel ;) :p

Happy Aflac... ;) now you got the cheesy BttF comment. ;)
