My pick is Beasley. Hansbrough's only scored more than 30pts 3 times. Beasley's done so 13 times (including 3 40pt games, 'Psycho-T' had none) . Beasley also set the freshman record (breaking Carmelo Anthony) for double doubles with 27. Hansbrough only had 17. You can also see in the poll how Beasley's numbers are superior.
 
Who's helped his team more, while still putting up great individual numbers? Hansbrough!

No doubt Beastly will be the better NBA player, but Hansbrough is the more complete College player.

Take Hansblow away from NC, they are still a top 25 team. Take Beasley away from KSU, they collapse.
 
Beasley has been impressive, however, he has not brought out the best in his team, which I think is a huge factor. If you look at how Beasley was used, he barely ever played any defense (basically just sat under the hoop grabbing rebounds, and even then he usually had a couple of other of his teammates there to box people out), which makes his stats, at least rebounding less impressive to me. I actually was more impressed with him in the Wisconsin game, as he seems to be fairly classy (unlike Bill Walker), and he does pass the ball around (its too bad his teammates usually end up throwing up a terrible three), so its not his fault that his supporting cast was hit and miss (Durant had a better team around him, so certainly I think his stats are more impressive for that reason).

Are you serious? If you're on a better team, you're not going to have to do as much to win games. Tell me this, which would be more impressive, Beasley leading KSU to the championship, or Hansbrough? Since Hansbrough has more talent around him, its expected (notice that UNC was a 1 seed, and KSU an 11? Think that might have had anything to do with the rest of the team?).

I hope you're not trying to base it just on stats, as that is completely stupid. What good are stats if your team loses? Ask any athlete and see what they say about that.

Take Ty Lawson away from the Tar Hells, and Hansbrough keeps them on top of the ACC. Don't penalize him or diminish his accomplishments because he's on a better overall team; Beasley scores as many points as he does because if he doesn't, K State loses. UNC could still win almost all their games with H taking it easy every now and then, but I have NEVER seen him slack.

This argument goes both ways because Hansbrough has had the players surrounding him that take pressure off him. Beasley is double or triple teamed every minute of every game.

This argument goes both ways because Hansbrough has had the players surrounding him that take pressure off him. Beasley is double or triple teamed every minute of every game.

Actually, if you watch the games, I'm willing to say Hansbrough had a tougher time than Beasley did (a ton of Beasley's points came out of the post where he barely had one player on him, let alone two or three that Hansbrough almost always had). All teams did with Beasley was keep him out of the post on offense (and on defense, KSU put two other players in to box out the other team).

hahaha well I watched KSU all year and Beasley may come out of the lane in the flow of the offense but by all means most of his points are in the paint with multiple guys on him.
 
Watching the Ark game... Hansbrough's sure lucky he's not getting double- or triple-teamed every time he gets the ball.

I'm not really sure what I was thinking on that, and I have not watched Hansbrough enough to really say one has had a tougher time than the other (and the fact that Hansbrough has a better supporting cast would make it seem like Beasley should have it tougher). My issue with Beasley is he lacks the intangibles that make a player great. Stats mean nothing if you can't do anything with them (tons of players will tell you that, Kevin Garnett, Kobe, etc). Look at Jordan and Lebron, where even though they had good stats, I would argue they were even better than their stats because they made the whole team better, and pushed them to win. I have not seen that from Beasley. Any player who doesn't show the intangibles in a team sport is very diminished in how good I consider them to be.
