Mine is Peter Bondra. Took less money to stay with the organization that originally drafted him and he gives his heart and soul every shift and every game.

He was the only reason i watched basketball, when he retired the first time, i retired, when he came back, i came back, when he retired, i stoped, then when he came back, i watched a few, but the interest wasent there, until the other night when the wizards played dallas, and lost in overtime. But he is still so fun to watch, and is the greatest basketball player ever.

but i guess on the serious note my favorite athlete right now would be M. Vick. He graduated from my college. GO HOKIES. and it a pretty badass QB
 
Mario Lemieux.

His performance at the 02 Winter Games was spectacular. I've never seen anyone so aware of what is unfolding on the ice at all times.... simply amazing.

Lance Armstrong or Kobe Bryant.

There's a lot of things to admire about Kobe, even though he might be a ballhog.. he still stays above a lot of what goes on in the NBA - doesn't party much, doesn't sleep around, a bit antisocial actually, but his work ethic pays off.
