Who is working Christmas Day?

Well, my boss notified me last week that they need coverage, and has given me Christmas day to work. Apparently within my contract it said I have to cover holidays.

At least I can work from home, but it still kinda sucks; anybody else in the same boat?

I'm working Christmas eve until 1pm. Don't know why. Whole lot of sweet dick all going on that day according to our list of reservations. I might end up bringing a movie. The good news is we're closed for three days.

I work on the 23rd till like 4am and then at night on the 25th. Also all night on the 31st and all day on the first.

I don't mind though.

I'm actually getting Christmas and New Year Day off. Woot! I'm gonna stay home and sleep 'cause all my friends are out of town.

The ER is always open. I dont mind the day shift Xmas as much as I mind the night shift of Xmas eve. With little ones its just impossible to do the santa thing if you work the night.

My wife gets to work Christmas and Christmas Eve but as long as people keep eating shitty and not exercising, she'll never be out of work.

I will be.

the internet doesn't care that it's a holiday.

but I'll be working from home with the forewarning to my boss that I'll be taking a 3 hour "lunch break" so I can have brunch and open gifts with my family (I'll just be on call during those couple hours) and I'll get paid double time.

Aw Hell No!

Not a big deal, especially if you are working from home. Even less of a big deal if you don't have kids.

I wish I had a job important enough to be on call or work off hours.

My stripper gf is working that day and my wife who flies planes is going to be coming in fror Europe on Xmas day. Also my mistress who is so hot and a spy for the CIA is call that day.

Not working exactly, but I've been on call all week, and will be through Christmas. Damn servers could crash at any time!

My company considers Christmas to be on Monday... which I will be working and will receive 16 hours of comp time for. I'm not complaining, even if it doesn't make sense.

I'm in university so it's a free day for me.

I wouldn't mind working on the 24th or the 25th during the day, for me, christmas = dinner
it doens't make sense to light the candles on the tree during the day, you can't even see them and there isn't the right athmosphere.

Here it's a tradition to burn down your house during the holidays, by lighting your tree because the candles are unstable or bent or nearly finished and the spruce is dried out because it was cut too many days before.
