LOL, its like 2 inches above the other eyebrow! I never knew much about Gov. Kaine--I guess he's new?

Anyways, I just think its cheesy not to do the response in front of a podium with a full corps of press. Maybe its just me. It just seems way too rehearsed.

Will the Dems ever figure it out? America hates them for who they are, not for how terrible their ideas are. Hell, we voted for plenty of Dems and terrible plans in the past - but at least they had some charisma. This current bunch is hopeless.
 
Did anyone mention Katrina? What are we doing to help Katrina victims? I wasn't really listening while it was on but I didn't hear anything about Katrina from anyone.

LOL that's what I noticed, plus the plush background. I just saw him on a public TV but the sound was off so I coudn't hear anything! Just from looking at him talk, Bush seemed more articulate than usual, is that correct?

Well, if they could get the corrupt local bureaucrats and politicians out of the way, they could be doing a lot more. My dad is down there subcontracting with FEMA in Louisiana to help setup temporary housing. He's got guys all over the state of Louisiana. He was telling me that he could have twice the number of travel trailers setup if it weren't for all the crap they had to put up with.

Attention Republicans! You do not speak for all Americans. For instance, you do not speak for the 50% of us (give or take a few) that think you are jackasses. In fact, YOU don't even speak for most Republicans, I doubt you'd get many righties to rally around the idea of "hating Dems". For the most part, I think righties, Republicans and Bush supporters have no real problem with the Dems, the left, and people who don't like Bush. They just disagree with us, but the viscious hatred just isn't there. Personally I think that is going to bite you guys in the ass, who wants to be associated with that sort of behavior? Even Bush and friends are backing away from it, you'll notice that they are taking special care to NOT frame the NSA wiretapping debate in terms of "patriot" and "non-patriot".

I didn't really hear that. With the possible exception of Bush's speeches right after 9/11, I've watched every speech of his with the same semi-embarassed feeling. Even when I supported him, I honestly felt bad for the guy, he just has no rhetorical power at all. He tries, but it just doesn't work for some reason.
 
i think that in terms of a speech he did a better job than usual, in terms of not f'ing it up i mean, but it was still all BS that didnt address the problems specifically enough..just vague statements that can be dragged in any direction he sees fit

Well I think this guy is a genuinely concerned Democrat although I don't think this speech really reinforced that. I had the overall feeling it was just too rehearsed and as I stated earlier too salesmen like. I've heard a number of political commentators tonight that have reinforced that feeling.
 
before slamming this guy you need to go and dig up some stuff on the amazing things he has accomplished in his home state!!

In all fairness to him, he had very little time to prepare for the speech. However, I did watch some clips and he was pathetic. You guys call Bush a bad speaker? This guy was worst than as bad as you can get.
