Longest life, I couldn't tell you. Oldest still alive, grandparents on both sides are early 80s.

my dad's dad is 87, mom's mom is 81 & they've both had open heart surgeries.

one grandparent also had open heart surgery and died of complications from several strokes, heart disease.
the other died from complications of cancer, though she fought it for 2.5 yrs.

so,with the history my grandparents have left me, i don't anticipate living past 75-80.

I had a great-uncle who was 112 when he died. He was a painter, and we have several portraits of his that were painted when he was in his 90s. Aside from that, most of my family has lived into their 80s and 90s.

I had one great grandmother that lived to be 102, her sister lived to be 103.
Another great grandmother lived through two broken hips and stuck it out to 93.

That's on my Mom's side.

Oldest on my Dad's side so far is 87 before losing a battle with a brain tumor.

One remaining grandparent @89, (still lives alone and drives!) one remaining great-uncle @95. (lives alone, does not drive)

Most others, however, died of incurable diseases or conditions around 80...
