I'm gonna go against the grain and say AC/DC

I like some of those other bands too, but the most enjoyable songs for me at least, come from AC/DC.... rock on
 
My personal favorite would be Everclear, although I'm sure everyone has their reasons for their favorites.


For pure "most popular worldwide", it's pretty much a tossup between the Beatles and Michael Jackson.
