Remember, Yoda was like an ooooooollllld man (i.e. several hundred years) when he was fighting in the Star Wars movies and he was still SPRY! (never was really defeated. Make him middle age and would own ALL!

Mace Windu was regarded as a greater bladesman than Yoda.

So it took two of the most powerful Sith ever to beat Mace. And it took a betrayal by Anakin to do that.....He and Mace never fought.
Anakin chopped Mace's hand off, and Sidious/Palpatine fried him with Force lightning. Otherwise, Sidious was defeated.

No, Sidious threw the fight to that point so that Anakin would be forced to make a choice. The book explains it in much greater detail. In short, Mace probably would not have been able to beat Sidious if Sidious had been really fighting all-out.

I read the book, and it doesn't really specify that.
The ultimate source, George Lucas, says that Mace defeated Sidious and only Anakin's betrayal saved him.

Obi-Wan is the greatest of the Jedi, don't get me wrong, but Vader would've kicked his ass. Anakin lost to him on Mustafar because he was young and cocky, I doubt he'd make that mistake again.
