Who is running 8800 GTXs in SLI?

After seeing the results of R600 I have decided to wait no more and purchase two GTXs to run in SLI.

I am wondering about power requirements... I do not care to hear speculation, so if you DON'T run them and DON'T have actual experience with the cards, skip this thread.

Thanks all!

I've successfully run two overclocked GTXs in SLI with a Seasonic S12 600 watt PSU. That's with an overclocked AMD 64 X2 4800+, two DVD-R drives and one hard drive. I'm currently setting up my new rig with my GTXs as below and went with a Silverstone DA 750. I'll let you know how it goes but I'm confident I'm going to have more than enough juice with the DA750's single rail design. A quality PSU outputting as little as 600 watts of clean stable power will be sufficient.

When I went dual GTX's I started with an OCZ 600 watt power supply.. The system would just shut off when in a game or in a benchmark..
The same day I had to take that power supply back and upgrade to a 850 watt OCZ Power supply.

Make sure you have enought power is all I can say.

There's a guy who just built a sweet rig over at the rage3d.com forums (Sirbaron I think), Q6600 @ 3.2GHz (quad core), 8800GTX SLI, bunch of hard drives etc. I believe he is using a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W.

Personally I'd use the Corsair 620HX (certified I think) or one of the 700watt range Seasonic/Silverstones.

PC P&C 750 Silencer is probably the best quality PSU you'll find and will handle them without splooging on a 1KW PSU.

600W should be fine for a system with a C2D processor, 2 or 3 HDDs, optical drive, discrete sound card and 2 8800GTXs.
I like bragging, so here's my system. I run a 1.1KW Tagan PSU. Runs great and it's heavily loaded:

I don't have 3dm 05 available. In 06, 18.5k; depending on settings. My video cards are volt modded, I can overclock them like mad. Are stock freq. (626/2000) for 18.5k.
The culprit is my CPU. It doesn't like high freq; or, I don't know how to overclock very well (I'm a beginner at overclocking). I managed to get it stable at 450x8 (3.6GHz).
Anyway, 3.6GHz of Quad Core is more than enough.
Memory linked and synced, 900MHz 4-4-4-12 2T. 4 sticks. That might also be a problem.
