As usual going to the big assed apple for the No Kings protest with most of the usual group I head in with, and maybe some newcomers.

This time I am going without a sign, but instead as a photographer/participant. Bringing my OM Systems OM5 mkII camera, along with a couple of primes plus one zoom lens. Going to try to get back into street photography this year, as well as document all the amazing people fighting in this moment, along with all the creativity and smiles they bring at times like these.

I'm thinking I'll bring my 24-120mm f/4. Jack of all trades, master of none. But its 1 lens instead of 50. Though if i had to pick just 1....it would probably be my 85mm f/1.4. Its an older version but damn its an amazing lens.
 
I have things to do outside as it is spring and we have a lot to get done. But I will be there in spirit. The nearest decent rally is also over 2 hours away from us.
 
I have a Pentax DSLR with Pentax SMC DA 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 ED AL IF Lens, which is hell of versatile, could bring that. I've taken that to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass concerts on roller skates for super fun time that always surpasses expectations.
 
I'll be going. Two others are joining me, and I find out tomorrow if there will be a third. Bringing more snacks this time, also a surprise for any asshole who tries to roll coal on people.
 
My biggest problems with attending the No Kings on Saturday is the availability of free parking, my clumsy discomfort with the new "parking meter" cell-phone payment mechanism, my COPD which makes walking several blocks almost a burden. I'm old; I'm tired; I'm disabled (mildly).

At least I have a day or so to think about it and plan for it.
 
Just got back from the one I went to. Only counted 2 or 3 passing cars extending middle fingers. Pretty much an overwhelming display of Fuck You to Trump in VT. Guy next to me had a sign that read 'Flip me off if you love pedophiles,' was pretty funny seeing car inhabitants spot it and either laugh, or look flustered.

I was expecting a big turnout, and it was, but the surprise for me was seeing several police Ford Explorers cruise by giving thumbs up and smiles, being supportive. Haven't seen that at previous No Kings. Felt good.

Just got back from the Bremerton No Kings protest. Looks like about the same, maybe a few more than the last one. Seniors rule in numbers by the way. Sorry no pics.
 
Just heading home from the protest and after party. I ended up seeing just about the whole march. I caught the very beginning at around 50th st and then kinda hung out in the lower 50's half the day, then down closer to times square. Saw that the march was ending like eight blocks away.

Full Manhattan midtown blocks of people for like two hours and fifteen minutes. That's a lot of Antifa.

Got a couple good shots I'll post. Need to just offload them and do a tiny preset to them on the puter

There was at least a couple hundred protesters in the median of the main boulevard coming into town today. Sadly, some of them took it upon themselves to harass some military people in uniform who happened to be in town looking to set up some R&R time for a few troops and their families. That bullshit doesn't help anyone.
Myself, while I support the right to protest 100%, I think it's a waste of time. You're not gonna convince Trump and Co. to step down or stop their criming...and you're unlikely to convince people who are entrenched on the MAGA side.
But, fuck it...get out there and let America know where you stand.

That's not a thing, no one anywhere thinks that's a possibility. If you're still with the guy at this point you are beyond hope. Trump, being an immature piece of shit who requires praise like most people require oxygen, just deserves to be aware of what the country really thinks of treasonous pedos. As a malignant narcissist it probably infuriates him to no end that these crowds are far larger than any of his rallies that were thrown at the height of his popularity. I like to think the stress is working for America. Sooooon.

The cult and it's leader aren't the intended audiences. As usual this is about convincing the politically non aligned and indies that the emperor really has no clothes, that you need to vote, and that there will be a reckoning for this fascist corruption of the nation.
