Who is planning on skipping work in tomorrow's blizzard?

Midwest people only, of course.

The possibility of 6-12 inches of snow makes me think that I'm not working tomorrow. I'll take work home with me tonight so I can do paperwork tomorrow. But, I'm not driving in that much snow (I won't be able to get out of my neighborhood even if I tried).

I don't have work tomorrow...but do have class. If I'm lucky, the university will cancel classes (unlikely).

The U never closes, even for tons of snow! Might be a day to stay in and find a way to get to my girlfriends to play Wii and drink hot chocolate and alcohol.

the snow is going to pass just north of kansas city, so it is likely that my house will get little or no snow , i work in downtown kansas city, which is in the 0"-3" snow band

so i think i'll have to go to work, unless the storm drops south more than it is predicted

Oh, I am just north of you! I am in Omaha. Our local weatheridiots said we were to get 12" of snow...hmm...I don't think so.

i've never missed work due to weather conditions. i get here no matter what, and i like it when it's dead in here. getting here is half of the fun 🙂

Ok this is bad, I totally thought you were talking about WoW since a major content patch is supposedly tomorrow 😱

Since the paltry .5-1.0 inches we got last night caused horrible wrecks on almost every major highway this morning there is a possibility that I'll be working from home when the real shitstorm hits.

I'm the same way. Last year when we had a couple of feet of snow, this place was paralyzed, since they're used to ... well, none. I got into work, and was one of two who made it out of about 25 😛

I should be coming into work. The problem will be getting home (Appleton WI resident here). We don't expect the storm to hit until late Tuesday. Predicting 6-12" of snow up here. Should be fun!

No snow forecast for New Jersey ... but if I do see a major storm, I try to take off.
Don't want to risk getting hurt or worse or damage to the car. Not worth it.

Figures were not gonna get shit here in Detroit. If its going to be cold I want snow!

*Waves from Ann Arbor*

Thats too bad. I have been told that a lot of my work uses that as an excuse to work from home which should = a day to catch up on stuff for me....

Just came through Denver...another front on the way. I doubt it'll be bad enough to skip work.

edit: I s'pose it could pick up some moisture along the (more) humid plains states, and if it gets a chance to build. I always forget that Denver is actually rather protected. Weather reports calling for up to a foot in the Northern plains and Midwest states...but I still think that's optimistic (or pessimistic, if you hate snow).

The only time we will be closed is if the public transit system shuts down. I've been working here since July 01 and that has yet to happen.

If you have kids and their schools close then you don't have many other choices.

Schools are usually still open, just the busses don't run. So worse comes to worse you drop them off. That's one thing I do miss about school though, we'd get occasional snow days, maybe 1-2 per year. Though most of the time it was when it was too cold and some pranksters would unplug the busses. Diesel becomes like a gel lol.
