Who is more retarded, Best Buy, UPS, or USPS

Bought The orange box game from bestbuy.com a couple weeks ago. Trying to get it shipped to me in connecticut. Here is the tracking information...

Nov. 26th - Processed at UPS mail innovations in ohio.

Nov. 27 - Transfered UPS mail innovations in Connecticut, which is where is is supposed to be delivered

Nov. 28 - However, for whatever reason, it is transfered to the USPS, IN SPRINGFIELD MASS.
Ok fine, maybe thats the only place to transfer it to USPS, even though idk why it has to go through them at all.

Nov. 29 - But what do they do now? Send it to saint paul minnesota!

Dec. 3 - Then what? send to connecticut? No, BACK TO SPRINGFIELD MASS!
Funny how it took 4 days to send it back to Mass when it only took 1 day to get there from Mass.

Seriously, wtf is up with this? I just called best buy and the jackass, after spending 2 or 3 minutes to pull up my tracking info, simply told me the status of the package and asked if that was my question...I explained again my concern, and he said they do not know the routes or whatever. Asked for a supervisor, but she was in a meeting...

Best Buy

Why would you buy it from bestbuy.com? Do you honestly think their online store is better than what you find in-store? Buy from compusa or EB or Gamestop or ANYONE BUT BEST BUY

It's definitely strange that UPS transferred to USPS. It sounds like Best Buy is doing wacky things with your packages; I've never heard of mail carriers voluntarily using each other.

It's a program that FedEx and UPS run with the USPS - they (private carriers) pick up the package from the company and transfer it to the USPS for final delivery.

slayer202, for not getting it from Steam or just going to a brick-and-mortar and getting it yourself.

Last time I checked, neither of those places had the orange box for $25, but thanks for trying

Remember the part where you mentioned that in the OP? Yeah, me neither.

That said, assuming Best Buy didn't fuck up your address, it looks like USPS is the one doing a one-man circle jerk. Go call them, see what happens.

Burn.

Anyhow, I don't see how BB is to blame here. What were the shipping details? (ie. timeframe, service level?)

I ordered it on Black Friday as well. I got the package promptly, but it was only an open, empty box stamped with "Received Open And Without Contents" by the local post office. After an hour of mostly waiting on the phone for their support I was told they'd send me a new one. The tracking number sat at "Billing Information Recieved" for about 6 days until it finally said it shipped yesterday.

Lol I apologize for not expecting a comment like yours.

You are probably right though, but when I call USPS I don't want to waste my time hearing "go as best buy" or just "that's how we do it"

Well obviously Best Buy has no control over the package once it's picked up by UPS. So either call UPS or call USPS. And since it was on track until USPS got it, that's where I'd start. But it's not like they will do anything anyway except say "Oops. But it's on its way to you now sir."

Not sure what you wanted BB to do about it...

Last time I checked, I was able to play TF2 about 45 seconds after it was released, but thanks for trying.

yeah I guess :/

Springfield Mass is the regional HUB!

It is essentially parcel post in the USPS system. I'm in Boston and I shipped a package to Quincy(5miles?) via Parcel Post. It had to go from Boston sort to Springfield then to Quincy sort.

Go figure.

may be the regional hub, though it looks as if USPS temporarily got it mixed up, and thus why it got sent to Minnesota. No package would ever need to go to Minnesota, if the destination is New Jersey, and it was already at a regional hub NEARBY the destination. It should have never been sent to Minnesota. Sounds like it may have got placed in the wrong airplane or truck or whatever it was in that went to Minnesota.

USPS screwed up, package probably got put onto the wrong line that ended up taking it to the wrong truck.

this is what CC online did with my A2 (bought during last month's HD DVD fire sale). It took 2 weeks to arrive, and the tracking system had it sitting in a warehouse in Texas for 3 days...doing long division, I suppose.

I didn't complain though...it was $120 for an HD player.

I didn't see Minesota. But USPS didn't screw up it's just how the system works.

It hops on whichever truck and it has to be full before it can leave.

The system is that they take package from springfield to minnesota, and back to springfield?

anyway, destrekor is probably right, so there is nothing really for me to do about it i guess

I wasn't aware that it would somehow change the fact that his parcel was being tossed back and forth to know that. 😕

Another possibility is there was a UPS pro number activated by mistake ( which is why there was an instant origin to destination transfer showing) - 'all shorts' will generally get transfered to destination for investigations and/or clearing out of the system. Then it actually ended up physically getting shipped with USPS. The routing of packages can be funny and make no sense sometimes. often packages will get routed where there is capacity to keep it moving until it gets in a lane that can finally move it to destination.
